Dear Soccer Team Representative:

The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club cordially invites your team to participate in the 10th Annual Jamestown Cup Memorial Day Tournament in Williamsburg, Virginia.

The tournament's primary goal is to provide an outstanding competitive venue for about 100 teams that will participate in our tournament. Division I level teams will be sought for the Premier Divisions with Division II and developing teams for the other divisions. 

Our tournament will include divisions in both boys and girls ages U10 to U16.   

Again this year each participant in the Jamestown Cup will be given a free ticket to attend a Virginia Legacy PDL game. The Virginia Legacy is the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club's entry in the Premier Developmental League. Last year's team was third in the Mid-Atlantic Division, and have posted a 27-6-4 record at home!

Williamsburg, one of America's premier vacation destinations featuring Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown Settlement, Water Country USA and Yorktown, is an ideal location for an exciting weekend of competitive soccer and leisure activity. We hope you'll join us for this fun, annual tournament. 

Virginia Legacy Game
Each team participating in the Jamestown Cup will be given free tickets for its players to attend a PDL game. The Virginia Legacy is the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club's entry into the the Premier Developmental League (PDL). The Legacy were 2002 Mid-Atlantic Champions and 2003, 2004 and 2006 Mid-Atlantic Runners-up and have posted at 27-6-4 record at home the last four seasons and scored over 2.5 goals a game. This exciting brand of soccer is played by former professional players, current collegiate players, and current players from the youth travel program.

Eligibility

Rules
A minimum of 3 games are guaranteed (See Acceptance). All games will be played in accordance with FIFA Laws, except as modified by Tournament Rules.

Age Groups
Girls U-10 thru U-16
Boys U-10 thru U-16

Registration

Teams must present valid Player Passes, Certified State/National Rosters, Medical Release Forms (Do not need to be notarized) and Permission to Travel Forms if necessary. Teams may not play without having registered under penalty of forfeiture of games.

Medical Releases
In compliance with the USYSA Youth Soccer Tournament/Games Hosting Agreement, it is mandatory that 2008/09 medical authorizations for each player be presented at Registration and retained at the field by the team. No player may play without a valid medical release under penalty of forfeiture of the game played in.

Referees
A USSF three-man referee system will be used to the maximum extent possible for all matches U-11 and up, as well as Semi-Final and Final matches. USSF Registered referees, who are in good standing and who wish to referee, are encouraged to contact our Referee Assignor.

Awards
Each player on the Championship and Runner-up teams will receive a custom tournament medal. Teams are encouraged to participate in a patch or pin exchange at the conclusion of each match.

Application
Online Registration is available by clicking HERE.

Online Applications must be received by April 30th, 2009 and payment of the entry fee of $525 (US) per U-13 to U-16 team, $475 (US) per U10-U12 team. Team applications must be received by April 30th before acceptances can be posted. Applications received past that date will be placed on a waiting list. FAX applications will not be accepted.

Acceptance
Participation is not final until acceptances are posted to our website on May 5, 2009.

Note: No refunds will be made in the event the tournament is cancelled in whole or in part due to inclement weather, adverse field conditions or circumstances beyond the Tournament's control. There is no raindate.

Payment
Checks should be made payable to VLSC and must be received by May 1st. The entry fee is forfeited if a team has been accepted and drops out and sanctions will be placed against the team for participation in future tournaments. Note: A $35 fee will be charged for returned checks. Send applications, fees and correspondence to:
