Expo 2007

Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is excited to announce its first annual Williamsburg Cup Expo on Saturday, September 1st. The Expo is a great place to spend the time in between tournament games. The fun starts at 9:00 AM and runs until 5:00 PM at the Warhill Sports Complex site and admission is FREE. The Expo has something for everyone:

Food and Drinks: Why travel all over town for lunch when you can get a great meal at the Expo? Concessions will be available for sale in the Expo Food Court, including sandwiches, snacks and drinks for all tastes. Ryan’s Deli, located at the WISC, also offers a full menu of hot and cold items, made fresh daily and reasonably priced. Pre-ordered pizzas will be available to be picked up inside the expo at a time of your choosing. Click Here for the Pre-Order Pizza Form...

3 vs. 3 Player Joga Bonito Tournament: The spirit of this exciting mini tournament is to remind players to “play from the heart.” Teams of three players each take the field, which has been reduced in size to maximize the action and accelerate the pace of play, to compete for honor and the love of the game.

Video Game Challenge: Players compete on the virtual turf of EA Sports’ FIFA ’07 video game with big screen gaming stations including a special viewing area for armchair coaches and teammates. Hourly winners are announced and invited back to participate in a playoff to the finals – where one player will be crowned king of the video turf. Click for More Information...

Skills Challenges: Skills challenges designed to test players’ abilities and encourage healthy competition will take place on the WISC’s indoor turf court:

  • Velocity Shootout: Each player takes three shots on goal which are clocked by radar.
  • Dribbling Obstacle Course: Each player dribbles the ball through a timed obstacle course.

Lecture Series (Presented by Tidewater Orthopaedic Associates: Coaches and parents will not want to miss the Virginia Legacy Sports Education Lecture Series, which includes three topics, each offered twice during the day (advance registration requested):

Albert served as head coach of the College of Williams & Mary men's soccer program for 33 years and is currently President-elect of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).  He will speak about "Choosing the Right College Soccer Program" at 11 AM in the EXPO Lecture Rooms.

Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex

And one of the best things about the Expo is that all this takes place in the climate-controlled WISC, so no matter what the weather brings, players can get out of the elements and into some fun. Just remember to bring an extra pair of shoes to wear inside the Expo. Cleats are not allowed on the indoor courts.

You don’t want to miss this – so make plans to attend. For more information, or to register for the lecture series, call (757) 253-1947 or email events@valegacysoccer.com.
